School of Engineering is recruiting three Assistant Professors in Computer Science with specializations in Deep Learning and reinforcement learning, Software engineering for AI or ML and/or Trustworthy AI 

The position, Trustworthy AI 

We are looking for new colleagues who are interested in contributing to our academic environment and who are committed to student learning, actively contribute to your own research and are interested in collaborating with industry. The specific role is: 

  • Expertise in AI interpretability, explainability, and the development of reliable and trustworthy AI systems. 
  • Research background in understanding how machine learning models make decisions and ensuring robustness in AI algorithms. 
  • Experience in designing solutions that address ethical and legal implications of AI deployment in real-world applications. 

Qualifications 

To be eligible for a position as an Assistant Professor at School of Engineering, you must have been awarded a doctorate degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, and possess strong research skills, evidenced by your ability to produce and publish scholarly work in Computer Science or a closely aligned discipline. The position requires fluency in English.  

Research.  We expect you to have published as main author in subject of relevance and have presented at international peer-reviewed conferences. It is meritorious if you have a track record of highly ranked journal publications and/or if you have participated in international research collaborations and/or have contributed to research applications.  Publications in the areas related to the specific roles are meritorious as well. 

Education.  Documented pedagogical and teaching experience, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, is meritorious including in areas such as Software Engineering, Software Development, Introductory and Object-oriented Programming, Algorithms and Data Structures, Web Development and Distributed Systems. The appointee will demonstrate interest in supervising undergraduate projects, Masters, and Ph.D. students (according to opportunity). 

Other merits.  Other non-essential but meritorious qualifications include knowledge of or fluency in Swedish; experience working in the software industry and/or in computer programming; contributions to open-source projects; and solid knowledge of the Python programming language and standard machine learning toolkits.
