The School of Engineering

The School of Engineering is one of four schools within Jönköping University. We offer attractive technical education at undergraduate and graduate levels and conduct advanced research in several technological areas. The School of Engineering is able to award doctorates in the area of industrial product realization. We collaborate with the surrounding society to develop new technology and spread knowledge to strengthen the competitiveness of companies. The department of Industrial product development, production and design conducts education and research in areas such as product development, production development, industrial design and computer supported engineering design. The department is responsible for five educational programmes at Campus in Jönköping, and two programmes in Nässjö and Värnamo.

We are looking for a new colleague to our team, an assistant professor or a lecturer in product development. We a looking for you with good ability and interest in teaching and development of education. You need to be driven and with good cooperative skills. Ability to work independently and structured with high responsibility. 

Job description

Work consists mainly of teaching and related management and development work at our engineering programs. Program manager is also be part of the job (3D-technology programme at our Campus Värnamo). Examples of courses are: Mechanical design, Introduction to Product Development and design, as well as 3D CAD and applied and project courses. Jönköping university mainly uses SolidWorks and CATIA V5. Knowledge in 3D-CAD, drawings, tolerances, product development and experience from research project work are essential. Meritorious is experience from Solidworks/CATIA V5, leadership (in eduation and research projects), industrial experience and teaching on university level.

Research is encouraged within product development and based on organizational and industrial needs.

Requirements

For a position as Assistant professor you need an Ph.D. in relevant field and documented teaching experience for at least one year. For a position as Lecturer you need an master degree in relevant field or an civilingenjörsexamen, or equivalent.

Beside the formal requirements you need knowledge on:

  • 3D-CAD 
  • drawings and tolerances
  • product development and mechanical engineering

It is meritated if you have industrial experience and experience from solid works and/or CATIA V5.

You need to be fluent in both Swedish and English.

The position is a full-time position (100%). Employment starts from April 1, 2019 or as agreed on. Collective agreement is applicable.
