Jönköping International Business School- PhD candidate position

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is looking for 1-2 Doctoral Students in Business Administration with a focus on Digital Business. Working tasks

As a doctoral student, we offer a fully financed full-time position. Most of your time will be devoted to your doctoral studies (80%) which includes coursework and writing a doctoral thesis. The remaining time is allocated for teaching and administrative tasks.

The positions are in the general area of Business Administration, with a focus on digital business. Specifically, we welcome applicants interested in some of the following topics:

  • The disruptive effects of digitalization for established firms and industries
  • Strategies firms enact to successfully manage digitalization
  • The interplay between digitalization, regulation and firm behavior
  • How digital data and digital methods can be applied to research concerning these areas

Qualifications

As applicant you need to have passed an exam at advanced level (Master) in Business Administration, or equivalent education, by the time the employment starts. You also need to have fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 credit points (ECTS credits), 60 of which should be at the advanced level.

The main language of research and teaching at JIBS is English. You must be fluent in both written and spoken English to be eligible for our doctoral program.

We seek candidates who have a strong drive to conduct high-quality academic scholarship, and an ambition to pursue an international research career and motivation to combine a high level of scholarship with policy-making and/or practical relevance.

As an international business school, we value skills and experience in other languages and cultures. An international outlook as well as prior research, teaching and/or professional experience are also advantageous, as is an ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders in and around the university environment. A successful candidate would enjoy and be stimulated by working independently as well as in teams.

Selection procedure
