The Jönköping AI Lab (JAIL) research group currently consists of two full professors, two associate professors, six assistant professors, two postdocs, and three lecturers, as well as PhD students and support staff. The main research focus is applied data-driven AI via machine learning. In order to ensure a research group with great relevance, a significant part of research and education is carried out in collaboration with the surrounding society and industry. JAIL focuses on theory and methods from data mining, machine learning, and semantic technologies. JAIL is building a multidisciplinary team with members from several relevant disciplines. We are organizationally hosted within the Department of Computing at the School of Engineering, Jönköping University. We are now taking the next step in our journey to build a bold, curious and attractive academic center for AI excellence in Sweden.
We are now looking for two associate or assistant professors. We are looking for those of you who are passionate, independent, creative, curious, and who want to be part of helping us to develop excellent research and education.
In the role as associate/asst. prof, you will primarily conduct research and education. Typical assignments include teaching (course responsibilities and supervision/ examination of degree projects) and participation in research projects. You are also expected to contribute actively to the development of the JAIL research group, as well as the department's education programs and courses in artificial intelligence, data science, and machine learning. Solid and documented knowledge is shown by, for example: doctoral dissertation in the field, high quality publications in the field (for example, publishing channels ranked A or B according to the Australian list: http://www.core.edu.au/conference-portal), course evaluations showing high quality teaching in the field, participation in the international scientific community in the field, demonstrated the effect of applied research in collaboration with industry or the public sector, etc.

These are full time (100%) tenured positions with start in August 2021, or as agreed upon. Working conditions are regulated in collective agreements and Jönköping University implements individual salary setting.
