The School of Engineering, Industrial engineering and management (IEM)

The School of Engineering is one of four schools within Jönköping University. We offer attractive technical education at undergraduate and graduate levels and conduct advanced research in several technological areas. The School of Engineering is able to award doctorates in the area of industrial product realization. We collaborate with the surrounding society to develop new technology and spread knowledge to strengthen the competitiveness of companies. We have been awarded the accreditation "Engaged University" by the international organization ACEEU (Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities) and in three categories received the highest rating "Excellent". Department of Logistics and Operations Management, at School of Engineering, conduct education and research in logistics, operations management and work organisation. Collaboration with the surrounding society and international presence are key elements in all our areas of activity.

To meet the increased need within education and research we are now looking for several new employees. We are looking for three teachers/researchers within the areas of sustainable supply chain management, logistics, distribution, purchasing, production development, innovative production systems, work organization (work-human-technology) leadership and/or project management.

Job description

You will mainly work with teaching, pedagogical development and administration of courses. Teaching is conducted in both Swedish and English. You will also be course responsible and supervise students. The work can, in the future, also include tasks such as program management and other administrative management jobs. A position as lecturer or senior lecturer mainly focuses on teaching, while a position as assistant professor can also include the possibilities to do research as well. Prioritized areas of research at the IEM department include management of production and distribution. The main focus is responsiveness, relocation and renewal. Research is primarily conducted with organizations in the region, which means sharing our commitment to research problems with practical relevance and actively participating in research applications is essential.

Qualifications

We are looking for applicants who are keen to develop, are responsible, have high pedagogic skills and are quality driven. You should also enjoy collaborating with others and take an active part in developing our common working environment.

For employment as a lecturer, or senior lecturer, a Master degree or Civil engineering degree with a relevant subject focus is required. For employment as a senior lecturer substantial relevant work experience and proven professional skills are a requirement. For employment as assistant professor a PhD degree is required within a relevant subject, as well as education in higher education pedagogics and proven pedagogic excellence.

Experience from teaching in more than one of these areas above, and in particular with a sustainability perspective is an added advantage.

Fluency in spoken and written English is required and a willingness  to learn Swedish, at least at basic level.

It is meritorious if you
-
have experience from private organizational work, international work and teaching in scientific methods and/or sustainability
- hold a PhD degree
- have knowledge of Swedish

All three positions are full time, until further notice with a probational employment in accordance with the agreement.  Employment starts from October 1st 2017 or after agreement. Collective agreement is applicable.
