The Department of Rehabilitation is responsible for educating prosthetist/orthotists, prosthetic & orthotic technicians, and occupational therapists as well as conducting research related to these fields. The Department of Rehabilitation is looking for a dynamic individual who is interested in joining our team.

In the role of lecturer, your main task will be education of students in prosthetic & orthotic theory and practice. Teaching duties will include assuming responsibility for planning and administration of courses within the program as well as participating in the development of the program. However, other teaching tasks may also be applicable depending on your background.

Your profile

We are looking for an individual who has a bachelor degree in prosthetics & orthotics, with at least two years of clinical experience working as a prosthetist/orthotist over a 5-year period. Post-graduate qualification and/or work experience in an area of relevance to the program is meritorious. It would be beneficial if you have completed courses related to pedagogy in higher education. If you have not, you should be willing to complete such courses.

We prefer that you have documented teaching competency and clinical experience in both prosthetics and orthotics. It would also be beneficial if you have demonstrated experience in participating in/conducting research and/or have been involved in quality improvement.

The prosthetic & orthotics program is provided in English and in Swedish, therefore you will require a high level of competence in spoken and written English. It’s meritorious if you also have ability in Swedish, Danish and/or Norwegian.

As a person you have the ability to work independently but can also be a part of a team. You have personal drive for continuous development and appreciate varied tasks. You also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, it is important that you have organizational and administrative competence.

Employment

The position is a general fixed-term contract with a starting date to be agreed upon.  This contract is initially for one calendar year, with the potential for an extension. The scope of employment can be full-time or part-time.
