The Department of Rehabilitation (AFR) is part of the School of Health and Welfare, which is one of four Schools at Jönköping University.

AFR is responsible for education within Prosthetics & Orthotics (P&O) and Occupational Therapy (OT) at the Bachelor Level, Master of science in Product Development with a specialization in assistive technology (MASTech) and Occupational Therapy at the Master’s Level. The department also delivers Prosthetic & Orthotic Technician and Pedorthist educations at the technical diploma level (YH). AFR also trains orthopedic technicians and foot orthotists (YH educations).

 

WORK TASKS

The main task is theoretical and practical teaching of students in occupational therapy. Other tasks may also be relevant depending on the applicant's background. Teaching involves course responsibility, course planning and examination as well as participating in the development of the program. Research of relevance to occupational therapy is also included.

The undergraduate and one-year bachelor programs in occupational therapy are given mainly in Swedish. The two-year master's program is given in English and is completely web-based.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for the position, you must be an occupational therapist with a doctoral degree (Phd) in occupational therapy and have documented pedagogical skills. To succeed in the role, it is important that you have the ability to adapt to changing tasks. You enjoy working in teams as well as working independently.

It is important that you like and have a good ability to organize, plan and work with administrative tasks. You have the ability and willingness to support junior team members.

We expect you to have high level of competence in spoken and written English. Swedish language competency is an advantage. If you do not speak and understand Swedish, we prefer to see a willingness to learn the Swedish language in the first few years of your employment.

You have a good communication ability, i.e., you are good at listening and being receptive to other people's communication. Furthermore, you have good social skills and strive for personal development.

It is meritorious if you have received external research funding.
