The School of Health and Welfare is one of four schools within Jönköping University. The School of Health and Welfare provides high quality education and research in the field of health, care and social work with the goal of maintaining and improving the health of individuals and populations. Our dedicated team of teachers and researchers at the School of Health and Welfare is now recruiting a new colleague who wants to contribute to ongoing research studies, with a focus on clinical science within the field of mental health. The position offered is full time, for a minimum of two and a maximum of three years.

The Department of Nursing Science is responsible for educating nurses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The curriculum includes subject-specific teaching as well as education related to scientific methods. Close cooperation with senior researchers within the research group will provide good opportunities for personal development. The position is connected, but not limited, to specific areas of research. These include: health-related research with a focus on mental health, data mining and machine learning methods, eHealth, study design and implementation using large administrative data sets.

 

What we are offering

We are looking for a Post-doctoral Researcher who would like to contribute to ongoing research studies, conduct quantitative analyses and produce manuscripts with a focus on mental health.

As a Post-doctoral Researcher, you will build partnerships with, and disseminate research findings to, both academic and non-academic audiences.

You will also work with others to identify and develop research issues, study designs and data collections, raise external grant funding, both independently and collaboratively with staff and students, actively disseminate the results of research, and also mentor students involved in research projects.

 

Who are you?

You should have a Doctoral Degree in clinical science, mental health, or a closely related field, with a strong focus on quantitative methodology and research design.

We are looking for candidates with expertise in categorical data analysis, advanced psychometrics, or longitudinal data analysis.

In addition, the following eligibility requirements apply for the position:

  • experience of systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and/or meta-research
  • the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • excellent time management skills
  • experience of clinical trial studies

The successful candidate should be highly committed, creative and curious. You should enjoy working with others, be able to turn visions and ideas into practically feasible working methods and methodology, and have good communication skills. It is important for you to have strong analytical and systematical abilities.

You should also be able to demonstrate that you can work efficiently and professionally, both independently and within a team environment, demonstrating great responsibility and the ability to complete dedicated assignments/tasks on time.

Furthermore, it would also be an advantage if you have:

  • technical expertise and/or knowledge of STATA software
  • experience of research in eHealth
  • a track record of productivity evidenced by publications in international scientific journals
  • excellent written English skills and good oral English skills
  • the ability to speak and write in Swedish, or a willingness and ability to learn Swedish.

Information

The employment will start on 1 August 2022 or as agreed. This is a full-time position (100%), for a temporary period of a minimum of two and a maximum of three years, unless the employee has been previously employed as a Post-doctoral Researcher at JU for more than one year in the same subject area. Working conditions are regulated by collective agreements.
