The School of Health and Welfare is one of four schools within Jönköping University and one of the leading institutions in the country for academic studies in health, nursing and social work.

The Department of Rehabilitation (AFR) at the School of Health and Welfare is responsible for education within Prosthetics & Orthotics (P&O) and Occupational Therapy (OT) at the Bachelor Level, Master of science in Product Development with a specialization in assistive technology (MASTech) and Occupational Therapy at the Masters Level. The department also delivers Prosthetic & Orthotic Technician and Pedorthotist educations at the technical diploma level (YH).  Our Bachelor level P&O and MASTech educations are international programs conducted entirely in English. The clinical education in Prosthetics & Orthotics is the only such education offered in Sweden. 

 

What can we offer?

You will mainly work with theoretical and practical teaching in the Prosthetics & Orthotics program, Prosthetic & Orthotic technician and Pedorthotist educations. The tasks also include course responsibility and course planning as well as participation in the development of the various programs / educations. We offer an open work climate with possibilities for skills development. There are good opportunities to be able to participate and influence the department's operations.

 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a certified prosthetist and orthotist with an interest in education and development. You are structured and have a good ability to organize your work. You like to collaborate and appreciate flexible work. You are competent in both Swedish and English, verbally and in writing. We would like you to have at least two years' experience of having worked clinically as a prosthetist and orthotist. Extra merit if you have pedagogical experience, clinical experience of prosthesis supply of lower extremity and experience from working with CAD/CAM.

As a lecturer, you also need to have:

  • master's degree or equivalent competence of relevance to the institution.
  • documented pedagogical skills, for example supporting individuals’ and groups learning.
  • good ability to lead teaching and develop education.
  • have taken courses in teaching and learning in higher education or have acquired equivalent knowledge in some other way. If not, the successful candidate shall undertake to take courses in teaching and learning in higher education during their first two years of employment.

The position is a temporary replacement for 1 year with a scope of 100%, with a starting date to be agreed upon.
