We invite you to apply for a PhD position connected to a research project, Regional Cybersecurity Awareness for SMEs in Production (RECAP).

The project at School of engineering and Jönköping University is connected to the knowledge foundations jubilee environment which aims to foster co-production with industry and cross-disciplinary collaboration.  In this environment you will be supported by PhD students and professors from across Sweden. You will be connected with a research team of Cybersecurity and Privacy Research (CPR) group.

Exact topic of the PhD project will be jointly developed and decided with the candidate within the frame of RECAP. 

Work tasks

As a Doctoral student at Jönköping University, the working time is devoted primarily to doctoral studies. This includes studying doctoral courses, participating in scientific conferences, publishing scientific papers, writing a licentiate thesis and finally a doctoral dissertation. Up to 20% of the working time may be allocated for teaching and/or administrative work. 

About us

At the School of Engineering, research and teaching are conducted in computer science, computer engineering, and informatics. We have two expanding departments in these areas, with around 50 employees. Your placement will be in the Department of Computer Science and Informatics. The department offers education at undergraduate, advanced, and research levels. Teaching is conducted through bachelor’s, master’s, and engineering programmes that range from graphic design to software development and cybersecurity.

We have some of the highest application numbers in Sweden for our bachelor’s programmes in Networking and Cybersecurity and Graphic Design and Web Development. We also offer a popular master’s programme in Cybersecurity.

Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the general entry requirements for third-cycle studies, which include:

  • A second-cycle degree (master’s or equivalent) with at least 240 ECTS credits, including a minimum of 60 ECTS credits from second-cycle courses, or equivalent knowledge gained abroad. 

Additionally, we require: 

  • Knowledge in cybersecurity
  • Knowledge in research methodology
  • Good ability to collaborate and plan your work

It is considered a merit if you have:

  • Have a good ability to communicate in both spoken and written Swedish
  • Experience of working in cybersecurity
  • Experience of working in organizational development
  • Experience of working with design for usable security

Employment Details

  • Position type: Temporary employment, full-time.

  • Salary:  In accordance with collective agreements. Starts with 34 800 SEK/month.
