As Executive Vice President you will contribute to the development of Jönköping University by taking on a key leadership role within the organization. The Executive Vice President will work with the President in providing leadership within the university and delivering on the key strategic focus areas of Jönköping University. Your focus will be to support the President in strategic and operational issues and to contribute as a central part of the management team. A strong emphasis will be placed on the prioritized strategic focus areas for the university:

As a leader in an academic environment, you have the ability to grasp national and international preconditions and opportunities for higher education and research. You are competent in managing external funds and in developing collaborations within academia as well as external partners and stakeholders. Your collaborations have high impact and contribute to strategic focus areas.

Your leadership is characterized by your social skills and the ability to listen, communicate, and make decisions with integrity, clarity and transparency. You have ability to build trust and create commitment.

The successful applicant will have proven experience of leading through others in a complex knowledge institution as well as change management skills and the ability to work as a member of a management team. You must be a recognized researcher with a solid national and international network and experience of building and developing research environments.

You have strong communications skills in English and Swedish. We put great emphasis on your personal qualities. Preference will be given to applicants with Full professor’s competence. Valuable additional qualifications are:

• an understanding of preconditions for commercialization.
• experience in research funding and a good network with funders.
• experience of working with sustainability, including working with equality, diversity and inclusion.
