For this position, we are looking for a PostDoc in Computer Science with a focus on Human-Centered AI to join our team.

Job description

The newly established Human-Centered Technology group at CSI focuses on designing, developing and evaluating technologies that make our lives easier and better with us, the end user, in mind. Overall, we carry out fundamental and applied research in different areas of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) such as visualization, human-centered design, privacy, graphical design, and human-centered AI. To facilitate the research, the group hosts the HCI Lab, a well-equipped environment with tools that can be utilized to gain deeper user insights (e.g., eye-tracking, EEG) and create innovative solutions (e.g., virtual and augmented reality). We are looking for passionate and innovative researchers and teachers who want to contribute and expand our group!

In this case, we seek applications from motivated individuals who want to continue their research career doing a PostDoc within the area of Human-centered AI. The research for the advertised position will be within the project XPECT (How to Tailor Explanations from AI Systems to Users' Expectations), funded by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). In this project, we tackle the challenge of building explanations from AI systems adapted to human expectations.

As a postdoc within the XPECT project, you will be expected to conduct high-quality research (80%), provide support supervising PhD-students and be a part of the research team with, among others, Prof. Maria Riveiro. Your work includes teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% full-time.

Qualifications

We invite applications from outstanding researchers with a doctoral degree (not older than three years) in any field relevant to the XPECT project, i.e., Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction or Artificial Intelligence. You should have experience in programming, preferably Python. Due to the international working environment, a good level of the English language, both written and oral, is expected.
