As Executive Vice President you will contribute to the development of Jönköping University by taking on a key leadership role in the organization. Your main focus will be to support the President in strategic as well as operational issues and also be a central part of the management team. This means a strong focus on the prioritized strategic focus areas for the university:

  • Increasing student attraction and satisfaction
  • Increasing international education across the university
  • Increasing international competitive research
  • Improving external engagement

The Executive Vice President reports to the Jönköping University President.

To be successful in this role you need to be a recognized scholar with a solid national and international network and experience of building and developing research environments. You will also need a proven experience of leading through others in complex knowledge institutions.

As a leader in an academic environment you have the ability to grasp national and international preconditions and opportunities for higher education and research. You know how to manage external funding and a fruitful collaboration with academia and external partners and stakeholders, resulting in a high level of impact and in the end making strategies real.  

Experience from national authorities, for example the Ministry of Education and Research together with the experience from interdisciplinary work in a complex organization regarding quality development in education and research are very valuable and therefore meritorious.

Your leadership is characterized by the ability to listen, communicate and make decisions with integrity and assertiveness. You have strong communications skills in English and a Scandinavian language.

The University offers 80 programmes and specializations on bachelor’s and master’s level and prepares students for working in an international context. Research and education are carried out at four schools: School of Engineering, Jönköping International Business School, School of Education and Communication and School of Health and Welfare.
