The School of Education and Communication

The School of Education and Communication is one of four schools within Jönköping University. We offer education and research in media and communication studies, international work, human resources and teaching. We have extensive activities towards professional training and skills development. Through working with us you will experience a creative environment with excellent opportunities for influence and personal development.

Are you interested in contributing with your experience and expertise to our department and its research into the teaching and learning of language and literature? If so, you may well be the professor in education who we seek!

The Department of Language and Communication at the School of Education and Communication administrates all teacher training programmes oriented toward literature and languages as well as the media and communication science programmes. Research in the department is organised into two groups: Communication, Culture and Diversity (CCD) and Sustainable Journalism. The sought professor of education will be a member of the CCD-group.

The CCD Group is an international and network-based research group with an inter-disciplinary ambition where scholars in language sciences (various language disciplines including multi-lingualism and literacy), special education, communication science and education pursue their research. Scholars co-operate between disciplines, with international colleagues and with different societal stakeholders. Members of the group have one common research theme: Inclusive communicative practices in and outside of school as well as in a global society where media are ubiquitous. The current investment project LedDMe (Learning, Digitalisation and Media) further strengthens our education and research efforts in focusing on communication in a global society and its relationship to literature and languages.
