Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is one of four schools within Jönköping University. JIBS’ mission is to advance the theory and practice of business, with a specific emphasis on Entrepreneurship, Ownership, and Renewal. Three principles guide what we do: International at Heart, Entrepreneurial in Mind and Responsible in Action. JIBS offers Bachelor, Master and PhD-level studies in Business Administration, Economics, Informatics, and Statistics. Since 2013, JIBS co-operates on the master and PhD levels with universities in Ethiopia and Rwanda, and since 2018 also in Mozambique. JIBS has approximately 100 faculty members, 1750 full-time students and 60 active PhD candidates. JIBS is double-accredited by EQUIS and AACSB.

JIBS is looking for a Director of International Development Collaboration with a focus on Mozambique

WORKING TASKS

The position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Advanced project management related to international development collaboration related to research and higher education with a specific focus on Mozambique
  • Budget responsibility for a turnover of about 10 MSEK
  • Continuous development work and negotiations
  • Collaboration between JIBS, foreign academic institutions in East Africa and Sweden, and Sida
  • Write funding applications and reports
  • Initiate and plan for international summits
  • Keep abreast with Swedish international development agency’s policies, routines and calls

The position reports to JIBS’ Associate Dean of Research, works in close collaboration with other Directors, and is supported by an administrator.  The position includes travels within and outside of Sweden, primarily to Mozambique.

REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the position you have: 

  • Academic degree in a relevant field
  • Documented experience of project- and/or operations management, including negotiations and budget responsibility
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken Swedish and English

If you have an educational background related to emerging economies, experience of working at Sida (or a similar organisation), experience of inter-cultural negotiations, or have worked/lived in emerging economies, this is meritorious.

INFORMATION

This position is a temporary part-time replacement of 50 % for one year, with possibility of extension. Starting date is as soon as possible. You will have working hours in confidence.
