Lifelong Learning is a research group pursuing studies of lifelong learning in a wide perspective. We focus on three different themes: a) lifelong and adult learning, b) human resources and leadership and c) gender, equality and inclusion. We are currently focusing particularly on developing research into the learning of the elderly. Our group is inter-disciplinary and has 15 members to date representing education, psychology and business administration.
Our research supports the Human Resources Programme which has two different orientations: one toward a first degree in psychology and the other toward a first degree in business administration. Associated with the group is also Encell—a national centre for lifelong learning operating by Government commission to research and disseminate knowledge of lifelong and adult learning nationally. The Centre for Educational Leadership devoted to the study of leadership in and the management of schools is also associated with the group.
Work specifications
As professor in education with an orientation toward lifelong learning you will pursue your own research, initiate research and lead research in co-operation with other members of the group, in particular with the scholars of lifelong learning. You are expected to lead our current research effort into the learning of the elderly as well as to support other researchers in their professional development.
As professor you will supervise doctoral students, teach, examine and assess course quality on both advanced and research levels. In addition, in line with university policy, you will be expected to initiate research and development projects in co-operation with external stakeholders and actively seek external research funding. Your professorship will strengthen our group by your leadership and by co-operating with both national and regional stakeholders in the area of adult learning.
