Högskolan för lärande och kommunikation

Are you interested in building a research team from scratch; a team to study education leadership, particularly with a focus on the role of school directors? Jönköping University is developing a new strategic centre devoted to researching and training educational leadership. For this reason, we are looking for a professor and two researchers to constitute the core of a research team. This team will also support related activities already in progress elsewhere in the School of Education and Communication as well as to network nationally and internationally.

To focus on special areas within a particular field is part of the Jönköping University Current Strategic Plan of Development. The Centre for Education Leadership is hosted by the School of Education and Communication (HLK). The school offers training from basic to advanced levels. Centre research will be pursued within the two disciplinary domains of education and communication constituting the foundation of all school activities.

The Centre furthermore favours an interactive ethos where Centre staff is working together with school leaders to seek improvement and development according to need. For the next phase of developing the Centre for Education Leadership we need a professor to be in charge of the research team and to engage as well as enthuse its members.

As professor you are expected to organise and operationalise research focusing on the varying aspects of leadership which, when projects are concluded, should be able to provide a variety of tools for development in all types of school organisations.
