The School of Engineering is one of four schools within Jönköping University. We offer attractive technical education at undergraduate and graduate levels and conduct advanced research in several technological areas. The Department of Computer Science and Informatics is recruiting one Laboratory Technologist/Engineer. Our department provides education programmes in subjects ranging from Graphical Design to IT Infrastructure and Software Engineering, and conducts research in associated areas. We have recently introduced the Bachelor programme New Media Design and the Masters programme User Experience Design and IT Architecture. The purpose is to educate students so that they become familiar with both design and the technology on which it is implemented. Job Description

The job consists of education and mainly supervision at our Bachelor and Master programmes.

Core areas of supervision:

  • User Research
  • UX-Design
  • Information Architecture
  • Web Programming
  • Bachelor Thesis

Besides the core courses, and depending on the candidate’s background, additional courses could be included, such as Graphic Design, Operating Systems or iOS Development. We strive for a close integration between education and research, and the candidate is also expected to participate in research projects.

Qualifications

You should have a Master’s Degree in relevant area (HCI/UX-Design), with a solid foundation in Computer Science or similar. Web programming is an essential skill. The candidate should also have documented experience in supervision of students. Fluency in English is a prerequisite.

Experience from research projects, especially in cooperation with industry, is of advantage.

You should be development- and quality oriented, responsible and pedagogically oriented. You must be able to adapt your supervision to students with various cultural and thematic background and have an interest in working with colleagues within different competence areas.
