Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is looking for 3 Doctoral Students in Business Administration.

As a doctoral student, your research will be related to at least one of these focus areas and you will be affiliated with one or more of the three research centers at JIBS: Center for Family Enterprise and Ownership (CeFEO), Media, Management and Transformation Center (MMTC) and Center for Entrepreneurship and Spatial Economics (CEnSE).

Working tasks 
As a doctoral student, we offer a fully financed full-time position. Most of your time will be devoted to your doctoral studies (80%) which includes coursework and writing a doctoral thesis. The remaining time is allocated for teaching and administrative tasks.  

The positions are in the general area of Business Administration, for example Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Finance, Management, Marketing, Strategy and Supply Chain Management. If you have previous experience and/or strong research and teaching interests in any of these areas, we encourage you to apply. For more information about research at JIBS, please visit www.jibs.se, where you can also read more about our PhD program. 

Qualifications 
As applicant you need to have passed an exam at advanced level (Master) in Business Administration, or equivalent education, by the time the employment starts. You also need to have fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 credit points (ECTS credits), 60 of which should be at the advanced level.  

The main language of research and teaching at JIBS is English. You must be fluent in both written and spoken English to be eligible for our doctoral program.  

We seek candidates who have a strong drive to conduct high-quality academic scholarship, and an ambition to pursue an international research career and motivation to combine a high level of scholarship with policy-making and/or practical relevance. A connection between the proposed research by the applicant and the research conducted by the research centers (CeFEO, MMTC, and CEnSE) is advantageous.  

As an international business school, we value skills and experience in other languages and cultures. An international outlook as well as prior research, teaching and/or professional experience are also advantageous, as is an ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders in and around the university environment. A successful candidate would enjoy and be stimulated by working independently as well as in teams.

The following criteria constitutes the basis of assessment applied in the selection: 

  • The general requirements for the doctoral studies;
  • The applicant’s documented knowledge within the subject area of relevance to the research area;
  • The applicant’s personal profile and motivation for further studies. 

Selection procedure 

  • The selected qualified applicants will be called for an interview. 
  • The preliminary time frame for the interviews is April/May 2019.
  • A decision will be made and communicated during June.
