Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is one of four schools within Jönköping University (JU). We offer an international and team-oriented workplace with competitive education programmes, across Bachelor, Master and Doctoral levels, as well as a thriving research environment and many opportunities for personal development. Our mission is to advance the theory and practice of business, with specific focus on entrepreneurship, ownership, and renewal. The area entrepreneurship embraces preconditions for, mechanisms behind, and societal consequences of new business ideas and ventures in existing companies as well as in start­ups. The area ownership embraces management and governance in business ventures with the aim of explaining the challenges, characteristics, opportunities, and consequences related to ownership of different kinds. The area renewal embraces research on innovation, technological change, as well as social and economic developments.

The research at JIBS is to a large extent conducted within one of, or across, its three research centres

JIBS is now recruiting one or two Assistant Professors in Business Administration specialized in Entrepreneurship with a proven experience of teaching and research in that area. WORKING TASKS

The positions comprise education activities distributed over the academic year, including teaching and course development at bachelor and master level, research, and service to JIBS.

Besides teaching, all assistant professors at JIBS are expected to do rigorous and relevant research, apply for externally funded research grants, as well as be engaged with business and society at large, to improve JIBS impact in the broader society.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for a position as an assistant professor at JIBS you must have been awarded a doctor’s degree in a, for the position relevant area. You have documented expertise in teaching and research.

A fluency in English is required as teaching is performed primarily in English, language skills in Swedish is an advantage.

The holder of the position must be able to position their present or aspired research objectives within JIBS focus areas and research centres: entrepreneurship, ownership, and/or renewal. Applicants are expected to outline in the cover letter how their research strongly aligns with one or more of these focus areas, as well as how they suggest engaging in one (or more) of the three research centres (i.e. CeFEO, CEnSE, and MMTC).

It is meritorious if you have

  • expertise in digitalization.
  • experience from work outside academia.
  • experience from consultative work.
  • proven abilities of leadership.
