The School of Engineering is one of four schools within Jönköping University. We offer attractive technical education at undergraduate and graduate levels and conduct advanced research in several technological areas. The Jönköping AI Lab (JAIL) research group currently consists of two full professors, one associate professor, seven assistant professors as well as PhD students and support staff. The main research focus is applied data-driven AI via machine learning and semantic technologies; we are also scaling up our footprint in management of AI transformation and in software engineering for and using AI. To ensure a research group with great relevance, a significant part of research and education is carried out in collaboration with the surrounding society and industry. JAIL is building a multidisciplinary team with members from several relevant disciplines, including machine learning, deep learning, NLP, explainable AI and visualization, ontologies and linked data, embedded AI and IoT, etc. Today, we are the largest research group in Computer Science at the School of Engineering, Jönköping University, and we are now ready to take the next step. We are on a strong growth trajectory and are now looking for up to six new staff members, including one full professor, two associate or assistant professors, and three doctoral students. We are looking for those of you who are passionate, independent, creative, curious, and who want to be part of helping us to develop excellent research and education.
As a professor, you will together with other professors and the department management lead the development of our research and education portfolios, and you will participate in research projects and educational programmes on first-, second, and third-cycle level. You will participate in the scientific community on high international level through, e.g., joint project applications and projects, arranging conferences, reviewing articles and appointments, etc. You are also expected to represent Jönköping University and the JAIL group in outreach activities to industry and the broader society; regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Main duties include:
As a professor at the Department of Computing you will be appointed to the Department Management Team, dealing with short- and long-term development issues and strategy; the DMT consists of the Head of Department, the Deputy Head of Department for Education, and the professors employed within the department.
