The School of Engineering is one of four schools within Jönköping University. We offer attractive technical education at undergraduate and graduate levels and conduct advanced research in several technological areas. The Jönköping AI Lab (JAIL) research group currently consists of two full professors, one associate professor, seven assistant professors as well as PhD students and support staff. The main research focus is applied data-driven AI via machine learning and semantic technologies. To ensure a research group with great relevance, a significant part of research and education is carried out in collaboration with the surrounding society and industry. JAIL is building a multidisciplinary team with members from several relevant disciplines, including machine learning, deep learning, NLP, explainable AI and visualization, ontologies and linked data, embedded AI and IoT, etc. Today, we are the largest research group in Computer Science at the School of Engineering, Jönköping University, and we are now ready to take the next step. We are on a strong growth trajectory and are now looking for up to six new staff members, including one full professor, two associate or assistant professors, and three doctoral students. We are looking for those of you who are passionate, independent, creative, curious, and who want to be part of helping us to develop excellent research and education.
As a doctoral student you will, advised by a supervisory team, carry out a research and coursework program awarding a PhD degree in computer science. Your research will primarily be carried out through externally funded projects in collaboration with academic and industry partners. In addition, you will participate in education on bachelor and master level.

You have good English-language communication skills. Knowledge of the Swedish language is isn't mandatory; but as part of the research will involve Swedish-speaking residents/ participants, it is highly meritorious
Several positions, full time (100%), with start from 2022-09-01, or date agreed upon.
The employment as a doctoral student is limited to 5 years in accordance with applicable collective agreement. Salary is also regulated in collective agreement.
