Jönköping International Business School

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is one of four schools within Jönköping University. JIBS’ mission is to advance the theory and practice of business, with a specific emphasis on Entrepreneurship, Ownership, and Renewal. Three simple principles guide what we do: International at Heart, Entrepreneurial in Mind and Responsible in Action. JIBS offers Bachelor, Master and PhD-level studies in Business Administration, Economics, Informatics, and Statistics. Since 2013, JIBS co-operates on the master and PhD levels with universities in Ethiopia and Rwanda, and since 2017 also in Mozambique. JIBS has approximately 100 faculty members, 1700 full-time students, including international exchange students, and 60 active PhD candidates. JIBS is double-accredited by EQUIS and AACSB.

The societal engagement (SE) team facilitate JIBS’ overall societal engagement and the external relations necessary for this (local, regional, state-wide, national, or international). It is closely tied to the core operations at JIBS and further infused with the experience of JIBS core activities and focus areas.

The SE Team is responsible for developing a strategic approach for establishing long-term collaborations, managing CRM systems, supporting students and companies for internship and/or job placement in cooperation with JU Carrier Center and JSA (JIBS Student Association). We are seeking to improve JIBS connections with relevant parties, support new collaborative projects, supporting commissioned education, support research outreach and collaborations with networks and funding agencies, support faculty to increase competence for societal engagement, collaborate with the communications department to strengthen the position and awareness of JIBS among its stakeholders.

We are looking for a well organized and structured SE Coordinator who enjoys working in an international and dynamic atmosphere to join our SE team at JIBS.

We offer a stimulating workplace where you will be a vital contributor to support JIBS’ societal engagement strategy implementation on an operational and strategic level. This means working and improving internal routines using internal systems (e.g. CRM), engaging, managing and promoting the JIBS alumni network for education, research and outreach purposes.

The position involves coordinate JIBS-level events with strategic partners (internal and external), support JIBS accreditation processes, engage and maintain contact and collaboration with external stakeholders, identify new strategic contacts and connect them with relevant faculty/centres at JIBS, help faculty and students to identify relevant connections among JIBS partners, collaborate with other SE functions.

 

Your profile

To be eligible for a position as an SE Coordinator at JIBS, you must have been awarded a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. We are looking for candidates with good communication and collaborations skills to manage presentations at events, meetings etc.
In the selection process, we will put great value on your self management skills, explorative and entrepreneurial mindset.

Jönköping University has a clear international character, which also requires good written and communicative ability in English. Due to coordinate JIBS-level events with strategic partners and student, a good level of the Swedish language, both written and oral, is expected. Driving license for car (at least B-level in Sweden) is also a requirement.

Further competences that are considered meritorious are:

  • Previous experience from academia
  • Project management experience

The position is a Temporary replacement, 2023-08-01 to 2024-06-30.
