We invite persons for a PhD education position connected to a research project, A streamlined environmental permitting process for construction projects related to critical infrastructure (SMARTE).

At the School of Engineering, research and teaching are conducted in computer science, computer engineering, and informatics. We have two expanding departments in these areas, with around 50 employees. Your placement will be in the Department of Computer Science and Informatics. The department offers education at undergraduate, advanced, and research levels. Teaching is conducted through bachelor’s, master’s, and engineering programmes that range from graphic design to software development and cybersecurity.

We have some of the highest application numbers in Sweden for our bachelor’s programmes in Networking and Cybersecurity and Graphic Design and Web Development. We also offer a popular master’s programme in Cybersecurity.

Job description

As a doctoral student at Jönköping University, the working time is devoted primarily to doctoral studies. This includes studying doctoral courses, participating in scientific conferences, publishing scientific papers, writing a licentiate thesis and finally a doctoral dissertation. Up to 20% of the working time may be allocated for teaching and/or administrative work.

Requirements

An applicant meets the general entry requirements for third-cycle studies if he or she has:

  • been awarded a degree at second-cycle level,
  • achieved at least 240 credits, of which a minimum of 60 credits must have been achieved at second cycle lever, or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or abroad

In additional you for this position you need to have:

  • knowledge in Business Process Management
  • knowledge in Digitalization
  • domain knowledge from built environment

it is meritorious if you have knowledge in:

  • Conceptual Modeling
  • Environmental permit process
  • Geographical information systems
  • Software Development
  • Cyber security

Employment Details

Temporary employment, full-time, with start September 1, 2025, or as agreed on.  Salary in accordance with collective agreements. Starts with 34 800 SEK/month.
